SET for Britain is an annual poster competition at Westminster for early-career researchers initiated to encourage, support and promote Britain's early-stage and early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians.

Sinan’s poster and accompanying elevator pitch – a 90-second presentation - titled Distributed sensing to safeguard heritage masonry structures, focussed on his work investigating the use of distributed sensing techniques to monitor heritage masonry structures at London Bridge Station.

“Our work already improved the assessment and prediction techniques for existing masonry structures in the redevelopment of the historic London Bridge Station,” said Sinan. “But what is really exciting is that it offers a systematic method to help futureproof historic structures for many decades to come.”
