Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction

Transforming infrastructure through smarter information

Cam Middleton & Barry Clarke, Co-Chairs of the Future Infrastructure Forum, are pleased to announce FIF 5.

The aims of this forum are to:

Establish new or strengthen existing collaborations between academics and industrial partners to produce new, high quality research proposals for preparation for submission to EPSRC in the forthcoming months, building upon the key challenges identified at previous fora.

  1. Provide feedback on the 3 proposals that were successful in the recent EPSRC call in Ground & Structural Engineering.
  2. Provide feedback from EPSRC on the outcomes of this previous call and an update of EPSRC’s current priorities in civil engineering.
  3. Update on new research initiatives in civil engineering including the TSB Future Cities and Transport catapults.
  4. Explore other funding opportunities, in particular via EU programmes.

Please note that there is a limit on the number of places available at this venue so these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The focus of this Forum is on encouraging collaborative research between University and industry structural and geotechnical engineers; many organisations will wish to nominate at least one delegate  from each of these departments.

Around 80 academics from 23 universities and 49 representatives from 35 industrial partner organisations have been involved with FIF to date.
