Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction

Transforming infrastructure through smarter information

The objective of the ISNGI symposia series is to commence a co-ordinated global infrastructure research program about long term infrastructure and land use planning and to ensure the best and sharpest minds from industry, government and academia work together to create not only best practice benchmarks but new knowledge to better inform strategies for long term prosperity.

Early bird registration is open until Friday 28th July, after which standard registration will be open until Thursday 31st August.   Full details for registration can be found at http://isngi.org/tickets/

We seek to establish international and interdisciplinary research collaborations that are designed to enable exploration of the development of Next Generation Infrastructure (NGI) in the context of understanding the interactions between infrastructure, the population it serves, technology and sustainability both now and into the future.

ISNGI 2017 is the fifth in the series of symposia on Next Generation Infrastructure, and will also act at the formal launch of the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) on a global stage.  As part of this launch, UKCRIC researchers will feature throughout the programme to give an overview of the current research projects and ambitious plans for the future.

Streams within the symposium will tackle issues surrounding:

  • Systems thinking to transform infrastructure services
  • Delivery of infrastructure systems and services
  • Governance of infrastructure systems and services
  • Cities and Urban Systems
  • Funding and Finance for Infrastructure
  • Digital transformation
  • Future Research and Innovation Agendas for Next Generation Infrastructure Systems

The event also has an extremely prestigious line up of keynote speakers and almost 60 contributed talks from across the UK and internationally.   The programme can be found attached and also at http://isngi.org/programme/ - please note that at this stage, the programme is still subject to change and final details, including panellists and time slots for the contributed speakers will be added shortly.
