CSIC’s Mohammed Elshafie and Paul Fidler are in Hong Kong attending SHMII-6, the 6th International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring for Intelligent Infrastructure.

Mohammed was primarily interested in fibre optic sensing technologies.

Paul Fidler was presenting a paper titled: "Construction Monitoring Constraints and Challenges: A Feasibility Study" which looked at the problems and possible solutions to fitting sensors to a tall building under construction in London.

They will also be making technical visits to Stonecutters Bridge (cable stayed) and Tsing Ma Bridge (suspension).
