Head of CSIC, Professor Lord Robert Mair has been elected to the US National Academy of Engineering.
The Academy elected Lord Mair for contributions to underground construction and smart infrastructure and for leadership in government, engineering practice, research, and education.
The Academy announced the news yesterday (7 February) and said being elected
is "among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer."
Lord Mair will be invited to a ceremony at the Academy's annual meeting in
Washington in October to be formally inducted.
