CSattAR features in World Tunnelling magazine

The leading publication in underground construction, World Tunnelling magazine has published a lead feature on the CSattAR monitoring system, developed by CSIC’s Mehdi Alhaddad, in the May issue.

The three-page feature, titled Photogrammetric monitoring of tunnel movements in the UK, examines the deployment of the camera-based technology on projects including Crossrail and London Underground, outlining the cost and time saving, safety and accuracy benefits.

Mehdi Alhaddad,  CSIC PhD student and engineer, said: “CSattAR enables engineers, to record precise movements along a tunnel section providing additional and valuable data to asset owners and managers. We are very excited about the opportunities that this tool can provide to industry and CSattAR will be available soon commercially.”

CSIC Industry Partner Imetrum also features in the article. Read the full article as it appears in World Tunnelling here
