Transportation Infrastructure and Interdisciplinary Interfaces on Complex Mega-Projects, Cambridge

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) 12th Brunel International Lecture Series titled ‘Transportation Infrastructure and Interdisciplinary Interfaces on Complex Mega-Projects – Dreaming Big’ by Linda Miller, a Bechtel leader currently serving as Construction Director on the new Sydney Metro Tunnels & Stations Excavation team, is coming the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge on Monday 9 December.

The lecture, which considers the future of civil engineering and how the next generation are ‘dreaming big’, will explore challenges facing engineers working on transport infrastructure around the world, reflecting on how transport projects can help improve people’s economic prospects, deliver social justice and contribute to solutions to environmental issues.

Linda Miller is a Bechtel leader currently serving as Construction Director in Dallas, Texas. Her most recent projects include the new Sydney Metro Tunnels & Stations Excavation team; Australia's biggest public transport project. In 2016, Linda was named one of the top 50 influential women in engineering in the UK. In 2017 she was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for promoting diversity by encouraging girls and women to join the global engineering and construction industry.

The event is part of the ICE international Brunel Lecture Series tour which visits 30 countries across four continents closes in London on December 19.
