This year’s CSIC Partner Summer Party featured short presentations by researchers showcasing a range of CSIC projects. The four-minute presentations are now available to view on the CSIC YouTube channel.

CSIC was delighted to welcome colleagues from industry and other partner organisations to the in-person Summer Partner Party held at Darwin College, Cambridge. The event opened with a welcome from Professor Lord Robert Mair, Founding Head of CSIC, who highlighted the collaborative nature of the Centre’s work and thanked partner organisations for their support. Dr Jennifer Schooling, Director of CSIC, reflected on CSIC activity over the past year, which included co-hosting a UK-US workshop with Cornell Program in Infrastructure Policy (CPIP) on funding, financing and emerging technologies in infrastructure to improve resilience, sustainability and universal access.

Following the publication of last year’s Annual Review, which marked 10 years of CSIC, the Centre chose to showcase its work in a different medium this year, and the short film ‘CSIC 2022: Data, performance, decision-making’ was launched at the event. The four-minute film introduces the collaborative work of the Centre that values data to support better decisions to deliver a safe, more sustainable, economically equitable and resilient infrastructure system – that enables people and the planet to flourish. The Partner Party event featured a system demonstration of the Staffordshire Bridges digital twins by Dr Miguel Bravo Haro and Dr Farhad Huseynov. There were also six fast-paced presentations by CSIC researchers showcasing a range of projects. These presentations are now available to view on the CSIC YouTube channel.
