Rail-led Urban Innovation

9-10 October 2014

Venue: AECOM, 300 California Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94104

Additional sponsorship graciously provided by: AECOM and ARUP

Summary: This workshop brings together leading thinkers and expert practitioners from the UK and elsewhere around the world to examine novel ways in which rail developments can shape major cities.  Workshop panels showcasing successful and challenging projects from London, Tokyo, New York City, and San Francisco will highlight best practices for promoting financial and societal benefits, and promote discussion about how to translate these successes into ‘new ground rules.’  Recognising the importance of standards for accelerating the successful implementation of smart cities, a goal of this workshop is to synthesize the valuable first-hand understanding and knowledge shared at the workshop into tangible outputs that can inform standards, other guidance, and policy initiatives.
