Virtual launch - "Network Governance and Energy Transitions in European Cities".

About this Event

Join us for the launch of the recently published book "Network Governance and Energy Transitions in European Cities", authored by Dr Timea Nochta. The launch will feature a short introduction to the book by the author, as well as comments from colleagues Dr Louise Reardon (University of Birmingham) and Dr Dai Morgan (University of Cambridge).

Dr Nochta is Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and Research Fellow at Hughes Hall, Cambridge. The book is based on her doctoral studies completed at the University of Birmingham. Funding for this research was provided by Climate KIC (Knowledge & Innovation Community), part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. The study was affiliated with Climate KIC’s Transition Cities programme.

The book draws on comparative analysis of three case studies to demonstrate how local factors shape the prospect of network governance to support low-carbon energy transitions. It highlights that understanding links between context and networks is crucial when designing and implementing new governance models aimed at facilitating and governing low-carbon urban development.

The launch event will feature talks and Q & A.
