‘ArchiSmartCity: Modelling the Alignment of Services and Information in Smart City Architectures’ - Dr Viviana Bastidas Melo

Abstract:

Smart Cities are complex systems that involve diverse stakeholders and concerns, use heterogeneous information systems and technologies, and aim to fulfil multiple and conflicting goals. Many municipalities require a structured approach to express such complexity and support strategic alignment. The talk presents ArchiSmartCity, a framework that enable urban planners to align citizens’ needs with IT solutions. Such alignment builds a bridge between urban planning officers and digitalisation experts by making explicit the links between city strategies, city services, and underlying information systems. ArchiSmartCity is evaluated in cities of Ireland and Israel, by creating real-world services models that are validated by Smart City domain experts.
