As part of the National Needs Assessment Call for Evidence ICE is hosting a number of events across the United Kingdom.
The National Needs Assessment (NNA) is a project facilitated by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and a coalition of organisations, including the University of Cambridge, to provide a cross-sector assessment of the UK’s national economic infrastructure needs – including energy, transport, communications, water, waste and flooding - to 2050 and identify options for how they can be met.
Professor Lord Mair, Head of CSIC and a member of the National Needs Assessment team, says: "The National Needs Assessment will develop a long-term vision for UK infrastructure development, with the important objective of providing decision makers with clear, evidence-based strategic options for policy making and investment programmes. A key element will be the consideration of new and emerging technologies and disruptive trends that may influence future infrastructure needs."
As part of the NNA Call for Evidence, ICE is hosting a number of events across the United Kingdom for the infrastructure community to learn more about the project, test and challenge some of the written submissions and to engage in the wider debate regarding delivery of infrastructure in the UK.
Sessions are taking place throughout April.
