Location

CSIC is based at the Department of Engineering, within the University of Cambridge, in the centre of Cambridge. The office is located in the Dyson Building of the main Engineering site, off Trumpington Street. 

We are about ten minutes' walk from the city centre and the bus station on Drummer Street, and fifteen minutes' walk from the railway station.

Transport and parking

If you are travelling by car, please note that car parking facilities are limited, and you should check prior to your arrival that a space will be available for you. View maps of Cambridge showing city centre parking and park and ride sites.

Travelling by rail

There are frequent trains to and from London (King's Cross and Liverpool Street) and good cross-country links. CISL is fifteen minutes' walk from the railway station, or a short taxi ride. To walk from the railway station, go down Station Road and turn right at the War Memorial into Hills Road. Turn left at the traffic lights outside the (large) Catholic Church into Lensfield Road. At the roundabout at the end of Lensfield Road turn right into Trumpington Street. The Department of Engineering is accessed by a small road just after the Department of Engineering. On arrival please report to reception in the main Engineering building and you will be directed to CSIC.

Travelling by car

From the South (via M11 & A10)

Leave the M11 at junction 11 and drive towards Cambridge on the A1309 (continuation of A10). Go through the village of Trumpington and straight on at the traffic lights at the junctions with Long Road and Brooklands Avenue. Proceed over the two mini-roundabouts into Trumpington Street. The Department of Engineering is accessed by a small road just after the Department of Engineering. On arrival please report to reception in the main Engineering building and you will be directed to CSIC. 

From the North (via A14 & M11)

The A14 merges into the M11 in both directions. Stay on the M11 until junction 12 where you should leave to join the A603 into Cambridge. Follow the signs to the city centre along Barton Road, following the sharp bend to the left into Newnham Road, then turn right at the roundabout into Fen Causeway. Turn left at the first mini-roundabout and straight over at the second into Trumpington Street. The Department of Engineering is accessed by a small road just after the Department of Engineering. On arrival please report to reception in the main Engineering building and you will be directed to CSIC.

Travelling by coach

National Express run regular coach services from London Victoria and other destinations to the Cambridge Bus Station on Drummer Street. There are also regular coach services to London airports.

Travelling by air

The nearest airport is London Stansted, with many services to many UK and European destinations. Regular bus services operate between Cambridge and Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports.
