The Second International Symposium for Next Generation Infrastructure (ISNGI 2014), has invited CSIC Head, Professor Robert Mair, and CSIC Director Dr Jennifer Schooling to be members of the Scientific Committee.
The grand challenge for the second International Symposium will be: Can we imagine resilient infrastructure systems that can meet the needs of twice today’s population with half today’s resources while providing better liveability for all?
The ISNGI series is designed to support the rapidly expanding international research community seeking to understand the interactions between infrastructure, the population it serves, the natural environment in which it functions, technology, innovation, finance, policy and the economy.
The first ISNGI conference in 2013 was organised by SMART at University of Wollongong, Australia. The second ISNGI (ISNGI 2014), which will be hosted by UCL, Arizona State University School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and the SMART Infrastructure Facility at the University of Wollongong, with co-host partners Delft University of Technology, Oxford University and International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), will be held at Laxenburg Palace, near Vienna, Austria, from 30 September to 1 October.
