The award-winning UtterBerry, a low-power, wireless sensing device, designed by CSIC PhD student Heba Bevan, is shortlisted for the Innovation category in the Constructing Excellence Awards 2015.

CSIC secondment scheme provides a productive exchange between industry and academia facilitating knowledge transfer between both parties. Mahul Patel, a tunnel engineer at CH2M HILL, shares his experience of being seconded to CSIC.

CSIC has featured widely in the media and attracted industry acclaim, awards and nominations in the past year. Achievements include six nominations for the forthcoming Ground Engineering Awards 2015, to be announced in June, and winning the prestigious Ground Investigation and Monitoring Award for the Smart Tunnel at the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Awards 2014.
